Mill Direct H Beam Column Custom Cutting Workshop Structural Steel Fabrications

H beam and column members cut, drilled and welded at the mill that rolls the steel

Mill direct means the same company that produces the sections also cuts, drills, welds and finishes them for your workshop. There is no trader between the drawing and the cutting line, so a revision, a hole change or a delivery question is settled by the people standing at the machine. Members arrive with the mark, the hole group and the surface system already in place, ready to be lifted into position.

1. Mill Direct, One Source For The Whole Frame

The company has rolled and fabricated structural steel since 2000, with 1,200 to 1,300 people across its own workshops and an annual output of USD 500 to 600 million. Columns, rafters, bracing and secondary members all come from the same plant, under one contract and one quality record.

  • Drawings reviewed and shop drawings issued in house before any steel is cut
  • Rolling, cutting, welding, blasting, painting and galvanizing coordinated under one roof
  • One delivery date and one packing list for the entire frame, not several suppliers to chase
  • Exported to more than 60 countries, English, Spanish and Russian speaking engineers on the account
2. Custom Cutting At The Source

Cutting is planned against your member schedule, not against a catalogue. The cut list is nested to keep waste low, and each piece is marked with its member number as it leaves the saw, so the bundle can be checked against the drawing on site.

  • CNC plasma and band saw cutting, square ends and clean edges ready for welding or bolting
  • Cut list optimised for nesting, which lowers both material loss and freight volume
  • Holes, copes and notches produced at the same setting as the cut, so field reaming is avoided
  • Piece mark stencilled on every member, matching the erection drawing sequence
3. Welded Sections And Plate Work To Drawing

Where a rolled section does not exist for the load, the section is built up from plate and welded. The same team then handles the connection preparation, which is where most site problems are created or avoided.

  • Built up H sections, plate girders and stiffened columns to drawing
  • SAW and GMAW welding with welders qualified to EN ISO 9606
  • Web stiffeners, end plates, base plates, shear studs and cleats fitted before shipment
  • Distortion controlled by sequence and camber, not corrected after welding
4. Workshop Frame Packages We Supply

Most orders are not a single beam but a working set for one building. Typical packages include:

  • Portal frame workshop: columns, rafters, haunches, knee and apex connections
  • Crane workshop: crane runway girders, crane columns and brackets
  • Mezzanine and platform: primary beams, secondary beams, edge protection posts
  • Roof and wall support: purlins, trusses, bracing and sag rods
  • Equipment support: pipe racks, conveyor gantries and machine base frames

  • Visual inspection on all welds, with ultrasonic or magnetic particle testing on request
  • Dimensional check against the approved shop drawing, straightness and hole gauge recorded
  • Coating thickness record for painted and galvanized members
8. Send These And We Quote From The Drawing
