Last week, the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Railway Bridge (the Shanghai-Jialong Railway Hangzhou Bay Bridge) laid the first hole and the marine survey work was fully launched. On the same day, the No. 1 hole completed the installation and positioning of the equipment platform and began the drilling work.
In 2008, the Hangzhou Bay Bridge was completed and opened to traffic. The distance between Ningbo and Shanghai was shortened to more than 120 kilometers. However, this bridge is a highway bridge. It takes more than two hours to travel from Ningbo to Shanghai. However, when the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Railway Bridge, which has recently laid the first hole, will be built on the bridge, the high-speed rail will be built on the bridge. Therefore, the “1 hour traffic circle” between “Shanghai-Ningbo” will no longer be a dream.
It is reported that the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Railway Bridge with a total length of about 26 kilometers has been included in the overall scheme of the Tongsu Jiayu high-speed railway, and has become an integral part of the coastal railway passenger transport corridor in the main skeleton of the national high-speed railway network. According to the pre-feasibility review meeting of the Tongsu Jiayu Railway held in Beijing at the end of April this year, the north and south ends of the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Railway Bridge are Jiaxing Haiyan and Ningbo Cixi. Therefore, in the future, people can take the 350-kilometer high-speed train from Shanghai via Jiaxing to Ningbo, no longer detour to Hangzhou and Shaoxing.
